Troop 187 is the oldest Scout Troop in Summit County Colorado and the premier Troop in Western Colorado Council. Over the past 16 years it's program and membership has grown to the point that it's activity budget is equal to 1/10 the total council budget. 

Without compromising the quality standards set forth by BSA, the troop produces a disproportionate share of Eagle Scouts.

It's activity program is second to none. This includes participation in the national activities such as Philmont Scout Ranch, National Junior Leadership Training, National Jamboree, Sea Base Florida and Sea Base Bahamas. Our year around Camping and hiking schedule, in our local mountains and national forests, is on a monthly basis at a minimum. All this is funded by community support through a boy run Christmas tree sale.

We invite Scouts who visit our county to join our year around program. In winter our boys love to host skiers on our world class ski areas (We have 4).
