Chairman's Comments
  • The position of Secretary remains unfilled. Two possible candidates have been mentioned but not contacted.

Treasurers Report

  • Financial Report
  • Equipment from Cabala’s has been paid.
  • Final payment on trailer is due. These funds were received from The Summit Foundation.
  • Roof racks were estimated at $180.00 and actually cost $223.50. The Trailer Source discounted both the racks and installation.
  • FYI-To have Tom Koch’s truck wired for trailer hauling was $217.11 and was paid by Tom.
  • Equipment reimbursements remaining are 2 tables at $49.99 each and 2-12" Lodge Dutch ovens at $25.98 each and three-burner camp stove $99.95 and tax for a total of $260.30.

Trailer Status

  • The trailer will need certain maintenance items completed to ensure a long life for this new equipment. 1. The floor and possibly the walls need to be painted. 2. Shelving was mentioned as a way to increase the effective use of the trailer. 3. Storage and a hitch lock have been mentioned as items to be addressed by the committee.
  • Summit County Motor Vehicle has estimated the license plates at about $125.00. The temporary tags expired about August 25.

Summer Camp

  • Good points-Advancement and many merit badges completed.
  • Poor points-As usual—the latrines, showers, food quality and quantity
  • Camp ideas for summer camp next year. Medicine Mountain Boy Scout Camp in Custer, SD. Added features are caving, rock climbing, better showers and latrines, closer than O.A. Greager, etc., etc. More information can be found on their website at http://tecis.com/~verickso/index.html, which has most of the information, needed to make decisions.

PLC Report/Scoutmaster

  • White water-rafting trip. Planned for August 28-29, 1999. Pump House to Radium. Camp located at Radium. Discuss general logistics.
  • Cub Scout—Boy Scout Camp, September at Spruce Campground. Boy Scout director is Reid and Cub Scout director is Bill Snead. They will handle the majority of the logistics and will ask the Boy scouts to help with program and one meal for entire camp.

JLT

  • Requirements for a position in the troop.
  • Leader elections
  • Training update-Dick

Old Business

  • Merit Badge counselor signup sheets and procedures.
  • Set date for annual planning meeting.
  • Order more Scoutmaster Handbooks if necessary. Theme books should also be ordered. Reid has a sample of this to show.
