 VI.      Scoutmaster's Issues:

  1. Dick Shaffer reported that two years ago the troop consisted of 8 scouts. It was easy to slip into a "boys club" mentality. The troop has grown and requires greater organization. Advancement is coming along

  2. Venture patrol has been established to answer a need for the scouts at the high school level.

  3. He is striving for maximum participation.

  4. There are currently 5 assistant scout leaders, lots of scheduled activities, and a need for training of new committee members.

  5. It was suggested that a date be set when there were more of the new committee members present.

 VII.      Policy Changes:

a.       This item was tabled until next committee meeting when more new committee members will be in attendance.

 VIII.      New Business:

a.       Lori has spoken to Carol Craig. The town is willing to give troop $2000.00 contingent upon troop finding matching funds from other sources. Funds will be sought from Optimist, Rotary, Elks, Jerry's haircuts, etc.

b.       Grant- The troop started buying equipment last summer to begin building up enough equipment for 30 scouts. The troop needs to continue to purchase additional equipment. All equipment is currently being stored at Paulette Adam's house and Ian Bennett and Steven Chandler are doing an equipmept inventory.

c.       Merit Badge-Books- The troop needs more books and current versions of all books. It would be nice to have a permanent storage area for library as library should not just be merit badge books. At the very least, the 15 required merit badge books should be available in good number. Beau Beling will inventory merit badge books and provide a list of books to be purchased.

d.       Freezoree

1.       Need a trip request to council for Freezoree (Feb. 4,5,& 6) at Air. Force Academy. Registration for going out of council needs to be in by December I O'h and there is a $4.00 per boy fee.
