Committee meeting

Upper Blue Elementary

October 9,2002

Attending: Bill Bartels, Ev Thomas, Tom Koch, Ira Redner, Robyn Cornwell, Lee Edwards, Nancy Woods

I. Meeting called to order at 7:06 by Robyn Cornwell

II. Approval of minutes from last meeting

A. September 4th minutes approved with corrections. Ev Thomas motions and Robyn 2nd. All in Favor. motion passes.

III. Scoutmaster Report - Tom Koch

1. Current events, this weekend Gateway District will host a camporee. Activities are listed on the calendar. It should be an action packed weekend for the boys. One adult needs to attend.

2. Calendar will be e-mailed to everyone with built in links to other sites.

3. Lynn OÆConner will be a new merit badge councilor.

4. Charter is some what messed up. The program has some bugs in it. It has scrambled some data. Tom will be working on it to get things ironed out.

5. Rec. Center night November 11th. Boys are to sign up for activities.

IV. Outdoor / Activities Report - Nancy Wood

1. Camporee, only 10 boys have signed up.

2. Hut trip. This activity is scheduled for January 2nd. Boys need to submit forms if they are going.

3. Chris Dobbins, a couple of boys have signed up already for next years summer camp.

4. All the paper work is in order for the tree lot. Mr. Theobold has been contacted about the electricity. We are waiting for a response.

5. Sea-Base is looking good. Everything is on schedule.

v. Treasurer Report - Ira Redner.

A. See handouts.

VI. Advancement Report - Ev Thomas.

1. October 21st is the next scheduled Board of Review. No boys have called at this time.

2. There are five boys who will go to tender foot. Ev will not be able to attend that Monday.

3. Several new merit badges to be handed out. too many to mention.

4. Bob Koch has made his pitch for his Eagle project. The committee should see the new hand book for eagle advancement.

VII. Training Report - Lee Edwards.

A. None.

VIII. Equipment Report - Mike McKee.

Absent. It may be possible to have to replace mike as equipment chairman due to health reasons.

X. Christmas Tree Fund-raiser Update.

1. Several time slips have already been submitted to Nancy.

2. Members of the troop will be the only ones credited with hours worked at the lot. Discussion ensued.

3. A motion was made to order only three hundred (300) tress in the first order. Lee Edwards made the motion, Ev 2nd, all in favor, motion passes.

4. A motion was made by Ev to order tree preservative and tags. Robyn 2nd, all in favor, motion passes.
